DAIRY FOOD STUFF
SYNOPSIS
PREFACE
One way to promote growing and conserving indigenous plants is by appreciating their potential commercial value. Marula tree is one example of commercialised plant that is not threatened by its commercial exploitation but, instead is currently been planted in large scales by the commercial farmers. So the current proposed food dairy stuff falls within the same category and there are high possibilities that its chemical qualities can be cloned.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
There is no doubt that there is crisis in food security world-wide. The evidence is in the proliferation of the genetically modified food in a bid to circumvent food shortage and to counter the effects of climate change. There are multiple sources for this food crisis. However with this food stuff, bagologolo want to take people back to the alterative food sources that have been abandoned in the advent of commercialisation and urbanisation. Providing alternative food stuff is like increasing the menu from which people can eat. You can imagine the scale of problem we will have today if the entire world was dependent on only one stable food for the survival of its inhabitants. bagologolo are appreciating that unenviable scenario and they are saying let us explore our horizons further even if we move backwards. Perhaps we might as well begin to appreciate the worth the indigenous environment.
VALUE PROPOSITION
Firstly, the reintroduction of indigenous food stuff may create new job streams in the rural environment.
Secondly, demand for the conventional dairy products will be reduced which will lower their prices to the delight of the poor.
Thirdly, health benefits of the indigenous food stuff are generally higher than the conventional food.
Fourthly, the indigenous plants need little or no maintenance and South Africa may have monopoly in its production.
Fifthly, bagologolo have been consuming the same food stuff for centuries and it is not new. It is still feasible at very low cost. The only consideration at the moment is the implications on the commercialisation of the food.
Finally, bagologolo have spoken about the need to conserve our environment and we did not heed the counsel by putting commercial interests in the pinnacle of food production. Now we are against the wall, there is global warming compounded by food shortage and depletion of the natural resources. The solution is to embrace our environment and exploit it for food production in the sustainable ecosystem friendly manner.
CONCLUSION
Offers are open to dairy products companies with preference to those who will plough back to the environment. The offers are based on equity on the project, partnership or buying the project outright. The business has growth potential even in the international markets. Detailed information on the food stuff will be disclosed on signing non-disclosure agreement.
